There are two kinds
of exposition text, they are:

1. Analytical Exposition
Exposition is a text
that elaborates the writers’ idea about a phenomenon surrounding.
Communicative purpose:
Its social function
is to persuade the reader that the idea is important matter.
Generic Structure:
Ø Thesis (introduction):
Introducing
the topic and indicating the writer’s position
Ø Arguments
Explaining
the arguments to support the writer’s position
Ø Reiteration
Restating
the writer’s position

The Unhealthy Fast Food
Thesis
Fast food nowadays is
considered a normal eating venture. People are not just eating on special occasions
or weekends anymore. It means that all time they mostly eat fast foods. However
is fast food good for health?
Arguments
Fast food has its
popularity in the 1940’s. Within a few years, fast-food operations popped up
everywhere. With the compelling rise in fast food restaurant since the 1940’s,
oddly it started the rise in obesity and cancer during that same time period.
Fast food is highly
processed with a wide array of additives. To ensure fast food’s low cost, the
fast food products are made with highly-processed ingredients to give it
shelf-life, to hold consistency, and to enhance flavor. Fast food altered from
its original healthy form.
It is not the
calories in fast food which damage health and waistline. It is the chemical
additives such as aspartame and MSG (Monosodium Glutamate). Studies show that
the chemical additives lead to weight and diseases issues.
Reiteration
So, there is
absolutely nothing nutritional about fast food. Fast food simply feeds hunger
and craving.
2. Hortatory Exposition
Communicative purpose:
To persuade to the
readers that something should or should not be done.
Generic structure

general statement berisi pernyataan pembuka mengenai topic pembahasaan.
(opening)
Ø Arguments
Arguments,
“pendapat, ide” berisi berbagai pembahsaan lanjutan darithesis statement secara
detail. Akan lebih baik jika argument ini tidak hanya berisi pendapat pribadi
penulis saja tapi juga bisa berisi pendapat para pakar.
Ø Recommendation
Recommendation/
suggestion berisi saran penulis tentang topic pembahsaan. Jika membahas tentang
bahaya rokok, anda harus menjelaskan apa saja dampak-dampak nya dan memebrikan
saran

Corruption
Thesis
Do you know what the meaning of corruption is? What
is the relation between money and corruption? Well, corruption is common every
in the world, even in the United States. It’s just a matter of intensity. However,
it is quite shocking when one reliable survey claims Jakarta as the most
corrupt place in Indonesia.
Arguments
The survey has made me sad, actually, because I stay
and earn a living here in the capital. As most people know, Tanjung Priok port
smuggling is not a new thing at all. Entrepreneurs who want to minimize their
tax payments tend to do such a thing more often. They even bribe the officials.
Well, I think the measures taken so far to overcome
the problem by pushing the corruptors is still not far enough. We have to
prevent the younger generations from getting a bad mentally caused by
corruption
Recommendation
I believe we should start at the earliest stages in
school and I think everyone should be involved in the effort to eradicate
corruption. We must not make any distinction
